Dedication:
In gratitude to each and everyone who came into my
life to provide right action at the right time. Each of you
had a profound effect on my spirit. I am the person I am
today due to your influences. Thank you.
I am grateful for the opportunity to walk the labyrinth
of life, make changes to improve my life, and move
forward into tomorrow. The labyrinth is a metaphor for
the journey to the center of your deepest self and back
out into the world with a broadened understanding of
who you are.
I am grateful for realizing the teacher in me is my
true calling. If the writings in this book sound like I’m
teaching, well… that’s the real me!
With special appreciation to the contributors—Ronna
Harris Askin, Mirian Bethancourt, Rita H Cytryn, Terry
Fineberg, Cynthia Weiner Simon, Steve Stone, and Carl Jack Unger

Excerpt:
Let’s talk!Life does not come with a “how-to manual.” As I
searched and researched for answers, I found it takes
heavy duty decision-making and follow through to
become aware of the true self and to accept the
reality. Without learning about the real me, I would not
have been able to find a supportive path to problem
solving.
Aging is a journey of changes! The emphasis in this
book is on practical daily psychological (mental and
emotional) and sociological (human social behavior)
maturity, not on the physical changes of aging. We are
never too old to realize a new goal or dream. A
wonderful wisdom comes from aging. Each individual
has a unique journey to accomplish memorable things
for today and the future. Go for it!
While struggling to find a guide for aging, I
discovered the benefits of asking questions, finding
answers, and writing about the effects on my personality
and development.
Writing helps us to see things more clearly, to allow for
a psychic cleansing. It helps to move away from the same
old, same old! The healing begins almost immediately, as
the changes occur. The spiritual woundings from the pastare my guides, revealing a path to move forward in my
quest to help others and to heal myself.
The universal natural age appropriate
developments, as outlined in this book, are the building
blocks to becoming a self-sufficient, well-balanced
person. These changes are both for aging and for
maturing. With an eagerness to do more and do better,
we often want to skip some stages, like skipping a grade
in school. The loss of information and wisdom is not
worth the rush to move forward faster.
The pages in this book include many questions,
thoughtful playful analyzing relating to the subject, and
opportunities for decision-making. It is a work book! It’s
about improving your life. If you want an enhanced life,
effort is essential.
A recent reader of my book, “Aging Is A Full Time
Job,” said it is a how-to manual for living through and
coping with the many stages of human development.
This book “Aging Is A Journey Of Changes” has many
more opportunities to find your life patterns in order to be
true to yourself! The next book I’m researching will be a
real eye opener for those who are used to accepting
things as they are and not giving any thought to the
details of life.
So why don’t we have guide manuals available to
learn to overcome problems? The answer is individual
differences prevail. No two people have the same life
experiences, genes, hopes, and wishes. One reader
might read the chapter on handling the truth and find that
point of view to be uncomfortable. Another reader might
find the models are right on track!
It is not the destination that is important, it is the journey!
If not now, when?
